SAM Magazine—Boston, Mar. 5, 2010—The Boston Globe Ski & Snowboard Expo, staged by BEWI Productions, moves to the Seaport World Trade Center, close to downtown Boston, Nov. 11-14. The new site replaces the Bayside Expo Center, which had been the show’s home for 26 years. The Center was recently bought by the University of Massachusetts.

Which retailer will host the annual sale that is such a big part of the show’s draw, replacing the recently-departed Ski Market? That is not yet decided, though BEWI is doing its due diligence on potential successors and plans to announce the new partner soon. “We anticipate a smooth transition of this most vital component of the expo,” says company chief Bernie Weichsel.

With the move downtown, and with opening day being a holiday (Veterans Day), BEWI is expanding the show’s operating hours: noon until 10p.m. Thursday; Friday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday's hours remain the same as in past years, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., respectively.
